Bangkok: The Ministry of Public Health held a meeting to assess the situation on the Thai-Cambodian border to determine whether additional hospitals need to be closed. Currently, two hospitals in Sisaket have already been closed, and two more may need to be closed if the situation does not improve.
According to Thai News Agency, Dr. Thanong Virasangphong, Sisaket Provincial Public Health Officer, held a conference with Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health, and other provincial public health officials, including representatives from Ubon Ratchathani, Buriram, and Surin. The conference addressed the severity of the situation in border provinces, focusing on the impact of hospital closures, emergency plans, and the availability of medicine and blood reserves in each area.
In Sisaket Province, two hospitals affected by the violence have already closed. Staff and patients have been relocated to nearby hospitals.
