Lom sak: Flooding in commercial areas of Lom Sak Municipality in Phetchabun Province has continued to recede, allowing for improved travel conditions.
According to Thai News Agency, the water level that had inundated homes and shops has decreased significantly from nearly a meter high to 20-30 centimeters, particularly at the Clock Tower intersection. Although floodwaters have receded, some areas remain affected, with low-lying regions still experiencing flooding. Many roads are now accessible, although some remain closed to prevent vehicles from causing water overflow into shops.
Shop owners in Lom Sak have begun assessing damages after the Pa Sak River receded about half a meter below its floodwaters. If rainfall holds off and northern waters do not rise, it is anticipated that floodwaters in Lom Sak Municipality and surrounding areas, including Tal Diao Subdistrict, will continue to recede and return to normal soon.
In Phitsanulok Province, floodwaters have eroded roads and inundated homes. Water flowing from the Phetchabun mountains into Khlong Noen Kum has eroded a road in Ban Nuea, Tambon Noen Kum, Amphoe Bang Krathum, causing overflow and flooding dozens of homes. The strong currents have eroded some houses, with pillars leaning and nearly collapsing. The rising water levels in the Nan River have reached their highest in 14 years, although still a meter below critical levels. The municipality has prepared water pumps in anticipation of further rises.
Meanwhile, in Chiang Mai Province, rescue efforts continue following a landslide in Ban Pang Ung, Mae Chaem District, leaving 8 dead and 15 injured. Officials are searching for two missing persons and assessing damage to homes, with plans to find safe areas for reconstruction.
In Mae Hong Son Province, flash floods and mudslides have resulted in one death, affecting four villages in Huai Pong Subdistrict, Mueang District. Governor Ekkawit Meepian of Mae Hong Son has delivered aid to over 200 victims and provided financial support to the bereaved family.
In Loei Province, water levels have receded in Phu Luang, Phu Kradueng, and Wang Saphung districts, though monitoring remains essential. Governor Chaiphot Charoonpong has ordered the deployment of sandbags along the Loei River to prevent overflow into homes and economic areas.
Rescue efforts and monitoring continue across affected regions as authorities work to mitigate the impact of the flooding and support recovery efforts.
