Bangkok: General Kriangkrai Srirak, First Vice President of the Senate, has expressed his lack of concern regarding the impending summons of Bhumjaithai Party’s leader by the 26th Sub-investigation Committee. The summons is part of an investigation into alleged collusion with the Senate. General Kriangkrai acknowledged the situation and expressed gratitude for the concern shown, though he has yet to discuss the matter with Anutin Charnvirakul, the leader of the Bhumjaithai Party.
According to Thai News Agency, the 26th Central Investigation and Inquiry Subcommittee has decided to issue summonses to about 20 individuals implicated in the Lot 7 movement. This includes two political party leaders who were contacted in the early hours concerning the Senate collusion case. General Kriangkrai emphasized that all those involved have already provided explanations for the allegations, and the process will continue as planned.
When asked about his relationship with Anutin Charnvirakul and the latter’s concerns, General Kriangkrai stated that he is unaware of Anutin’s worries since they have not discussed the issue. Despite their close friendship, he remains unconcerned about the potential impact on the Bhumjaithai Party, dismissing fears of its dissolution and indicating that he will refrain from further comments until a later date.
Pol. Col. Kob Atchanakitti, the superintendent, also weighed in, emphasizing the importance of national stability over discussing the Senate collusion issue. He assured that the situation is stable but reiterated that his focus remains on national interests rather than individual senators, emphasizing the patriotic duty of the senators.
