Half-Half Plus Program Generates 1.5 Billion Baht on First Day

Bangkok: Ekniti Nitithanpraphat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, expressed delight over the successful launch of the “Half-Half Plus” program, which recorded 1.5 billion baht in circulation on its opening day. Merchants can continue to register until December 19th, and those who missed out on the initial phase can look forward to Phase 2, following approval from the Prime Minister.

According to Thai News Agency, the “Half-Half Plus” program, which opened to the public on October 29th, received an overwhelming response. Over 1.6 million users and more than 600,000 participating merchants nationwide contributed to the total spending exceeding 1.5 billion baht.

Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti expressed gratitude towards the public and entrepreneurs for their cooperation. He underlined the importance of continued registration for businesses until December 19, 2025, to enhance economic opportunities further.

Addressing concerns about those who missed the initial phase, Ekniti assured that Phase 2 is underway, following directives from Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The preparations aim to ensure equitable access to the program, aligning with the government’s objectives.

Ekniti emphasized the program’s goal of fostering a grassroots economy, ensuring that financial benefits reach the populace and community shops receive support.
