Bangkok: Heavy rain is expected in some areas of the North and upper Northeast of Thailand, with thunderstorms predicted for the South and parts of Bangkok and its vicinity.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast indicating that the upper part of Thailand will continue to experience heavy rain over the next 24 hours, attributed to the moderate southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
In the Andaman Sea, waves are anticipated to be moderate, reaching heights of 1-2 meters, and exceeding 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms. Sailors in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are advised to proceed with caution and avoid areas experiencing thunderstorms.
The forecast for the Northern region includes thunderstorms in 60% of the area, with heavy rain expected in Tak, Phichit, Phitsanulok, and Phetchabun provinces. The Northeastern region is predicted to have thunderstorms in 40% of the area, with heavy rain in Bueng Kan and Nakhon Phanom provinces. In the Central region, 40% of the area will experience thunderstorms, particularly in Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Lop Buri, and Saraburi provinces.
The Eastern region is forecasted to have thunderstorms in 60% of the area, with significant activity in Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, and Chon Buri provinces. In the Southern region, both the east and west coasts will see thunderstorms in 20% of the area, primarily affecting provinces such as Ranong, Phang Nga, and Krabi.
Bangkok and its vicinity are predicted to have a 60% chance of thunderstorms. Residents in all affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions against the potential dangers posed by the adverse weather conditions.
