Reykjavik: A volcano on the southwestern Reykjavik Peninsula erupted again early this morning local time, the Icelandic Meteorological Office reported today. The eruption, characterized as a fissure eruption, involved lava flowing out of a long crack in the ground rather than from a central crater.
According to Thai News Agency, this marks the 12th eruption of the volcano since 2021. Despite the activity, the eruption did not pose a threat to Iceland’s capital, Reykjavk. Additionally, no significant ash was released into the atmosphere, ensuring that air traffic in the region remained unaffected.
