ISOC Secretary-General Expresses Concern Over Yala Bombing, Issues Strict Security Policy

Yala: The Secretary-General of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) expressed concern over the Yala bombing incident and issued a policy to tighten security measures. The Commander of Army Area 4 and the Director of ISOC Region 4 visited the area to closely monitor the situation.

According to Thai News Agency, Major General Thammanoon Maisonthi, spokesman for the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), revealed that on the evening of October 8, 2015, several bombings occurred in Yala City. Security forces from all sectors immediately rushed to control the situation.

Following the incident, General Chaiyapruek Duangpraphat, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Army and Secretary-General of the ISOC, expressed his concern over the situation and directed ISOC Region 4 and ISOC Region 4 Offices to integrate their work with local security agencies to closely monitor public safety. This effort emphasizes careful, swift action, and the minimization of impacts to the public.

Following the incident, Lt. Gen. Narathip Poynok, Commander of the Fourth Army Region and Director of Internal Security Operations Command Region 4, immediately visited the scene to listen to reports from relevant agencies and ordered the tightening of security measures in the city and community areas.

The 4th Army Region Commander and Director of the 4th ISOC Region emphasized that all security units will work together to their fullest extent to ensure public confidence and allow normal life to resume. He also requested the public’s cooperation in keeping an eye out. The Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) warns that those who support perpetrators of violence, whether by providing shelter, hiding, or providing food, are guilty of an offense under Section 189 of the Criminal Code, punishable by imprisonment not exceeding two years, a fine not exceeding 40,000 baht, or both.
