Surat Thani: Kanchanaphisek School, Krabi Province, emerged victorious at the PCE Southern Youth Cup 2025, securing the youth football championship title. The climactic event took place during the U15 qualifying round 2 at Prince of Songkla University, Surat Thani Campus. In a decisive match, Kanchanaphisek Wittayalai School Krabi overcame Nanami Team from Surat Thani Municipality Sports School with a 2-0 score, earning a spot in the upcoming international final round scheduled for 25-27 July. Meanwhile, Thepmithrasuksa School clinched third place by defeating Phuket Football Club 3-0.
According to Thai News Agency, several individual accolades were awarded during the event. Satayu Kaewbuasa from Nanami Team received the Best Goalkeeper Award, while Piriyapong Chuaynuen from Kanchanaphisek School, Krabi Province, was honored with the Best Defender Award. Kanchanaphisek School’s Siwat Butthip took home the Best Midfielder Award, and Nattawee Klongmodkhan from Thepmithrasuksa School, Surat Thani Province, earned the Best Forward Award. The awards ceremony was graced by Ms. Kankorn Prasitsuphaphol, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Petchsriwichai Enterprise Co., Ltd., and Mr. Kriangsak Rodphanchu, Chief Judge of the Labor Court Region 8, who jointly presented the awards to the athletes.
The event received support from Petch Sriwichai Enterprise Public Company Limited and its affiliates, including Wingz products, IMANE products, and Mikasa Industry (Thailand) Company Limited. ‘Coach Yong’ Worawut Srimaka, a former coach and player for the Thai national team, chaired the competition organizing committee. The competition aims to provide a standard playing stage for youth in the South, encouraging their development toward professional levels. Additionally, the event featured the ‘Throw It Away It’s a Shame’ project, where participants could exchange 2 kg of used cooking oil for 1 liter of Rintip brand cooking oil. The collected used oil will be repurposed to produce biodiesel.
The international championship round will be hosted at the Surat Thani Campus, Prince of Songkla University, from 25-27 July. The format will feature four teams from the qualifying rounds, alongside teams from the Thai League and four international teams, making up a total of eight competing teams.
