Kor Kaew Denies Possibility of Parliament Dissolution Following Budget Approval

Bangkok: “Kor Kaew” has firmly asserted that the government will not dissolve parliament following the passage of the 2016 budget, dismissing such claims as unfounded and lacking factual basis.

According to Thai News Agency, Ko Kaew Pikulthong, a party-list Member of Parliament for the Pheu Thai Party, clarified that the House of Representatives is set to convene from August 13-15, 2025, to deliberate on the draft Budget Act for the 2026 fiscal year. The special committee has already completed its deliberations on the budget, and Mr. Pikulthong is confident that it will pass the second and third readings without encountering any obstacles before being forwarded to the Senate for further consideration. Despite earlier speculations by some media outlets suggesting the possibility of dissolving Parliament after the budget bill’s passage, Mr. Pikulthong emphasized that there is no truth to these claims.

As a representative of the Pheu Thai Party, Mr. Pikulthong expressed that he has not encountered any discussions or suggestions from key figures or senior members of the party regarding the dissolution of Parliament in the past few months. He reiterated that the analysis predicting the dissolution of Parliament following the approval of the Budget Act is purely speculative and devoid of any factual foundation.
