Lawyer Reveals Thaksin Questioned Plaintiff During Witness Examination

Bangkok: Former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra left the Criminal Court following the completion of the first round of witness examination in case number A.1860/2567. Mr. Winyat Chatmontri, Thaksin Shinawatra’s lawyer, disclosed that the court examined three witnesses from the plaintiff’s side. Throughout the proceedings, Thaksin maintained a calm demeanor and personally questioned the plaintiff. The lawyer expressed no immediate concerns regarding the case but noted that the direction of the case remains uncertain. The verdict will ultimately be determined at the court’s discretion. Mr. Winyat confirmed that Thaksin would participate in the witness examination himself for all three days.

According to Thai News Agency, when questioned about the Constitutional Court’s order for Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, to cease her duties, Mr. Winyat stated that Thaksin’s attitude remained unchanged. There was no discussion on whether Thaksin felt stressed or worried, but it was assumed that he was already informed about the situation.

The witness examination process for this case is scheduled to examine the plaintiff’s witnesses over three days, from July 1-3, accounting for a total of ten witnesses. The examination of the defendant’s witnesses, totaling fourteen, is set to commence on July 15-16 and July 22-23, 2025, before moving to the court’s consideration process.
