Liverpool Triumphs in 20th Premier League Title Amid Celebrations and Awards


Liverpool: Liverpool celebrated their English Premier League championship in grand style, with Mohamed Salah sweeping the Golden Boot, Best Player, and Playmaker awards.



According to Thai News Agency, Liverpool, who have secured the top league championship for the 20th time, hosted Crystal Palace, the FA Cup champions, at Anfield Stadium in their last match of the 2024/25 season. Both teams stood in a row before the game to honor each other’s achievements. The match saw Crystal Palace taking an early lead with a goal from Ismaila Sarr in the 9th minute. Liverpool faced a setback in the 68th minute when Ryan Gravenberch was sent off, but they managed to equalize through Mohamed Salah in the 85th minute, ending the game in a 1-1 draw. Liverpool concluded the season with 84 points from 38 matches, while Crystal Palace finished with 53 points in 12th place.



After the match, Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk led the team in lifting the Premier League trophy in front of 60,000 fans at Anfield, marking their 20th English top-flight title victory. Mohamed Salah, who scored 29 goals and provided 18 assists, was awarded the Golden Boot, Premier League Player of the Year, and Playmaker Award.



The pre-match atmosphere at Anfield was electric, with fans setting off flares, waving flags, and singing in celebration of the championship. The supporters praised the efforts of the players and manager Arne Slot, who expressed his determination to continue Liverpool’s success. Slot highlighted the 3-0 victory over Manchester United in September as a turning point in their championship campaign.



In other matches, Bournemouth defeated Leicester City 2-0, Wolverhampton drew with Brentford 1-1, Spurs lost to Brighton 1-4, Southampton was beaten by Arsenal 1-2, Nottingham Forest fell to Chelsea 0-1, Newcastle lost to Everton 0-1, Manchester United won against Aston Villa 2-0, Fulham was defeated by Manchester City 0-2, and Ipswich Town lost to West Ham 1-3.



The final standings saw Liverpool crowned champions, followed by Arsenal as runners-up, Manchester City in third, Chelsea in fourth, and Newcastle in fifth, all securing UEFA Champions League spots. Aston Villa finished sixth, earning a place in the Europa League, while Nottingham Forest secured seventh and a spot in the Conference League. Despite finishing 17th, Spurs earned a UEFA Champions League place as Europa League champions.



The teams promoted to the 2025/26 Premier League are Leeds United, Burnley, and Sunderland.
