Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for the upper Northeastern region and the western coast of the Southern region, indicating that heavy rain is expected in some areas. Residents in these regions are advised to exercise caution due to the potential dangers posed by the heavy rainfall. Furthermore, Bangkok and its surrounding areas are anticipated to experience a 40% chance of thunderstorms.
According to Thai News Agency, the department’s forecast for the next 24 hours suggests that thunderstorms and heavy rain will persist in parts of the upper northeastern and western southern regions of Thailand. This weather pattern is attributed to a moderate southwest monsoon affecting the Andaman Sea, the southern region, and the Gulf of Thailand. Additionally, a weak monsoon trough is moving through Myanmar and northern Laos, extending into a low-pressure cell located in northern Vietnam.
The Andaman Sea is expected to experience moderate waves, with the upper Andaman Sea seeing waves approximately 2 meters high. In areas experiencing thunderstorms, wave heights may exceed 2 meters. Sailors navigating the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are urged to proceed with caution and to avoid areas where thunderstorms are present.
In Bangkok and its vicinity, the forecast indicates a 40% chance of thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from a minimum of 27-28 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 34-37 degrees Celsius.
