Minister Clarifies Controversy Over Massage Chair Box at Government House

Bangkok: “Napinthorn” is addressing the controversy regarding the transportation of massage chairs into Government House. In a recent clarification, the boxes, which were believed to contain massage chairs, were actually old boxes repurposed to hold Buddhist items.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Napin Srisanpang, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, explained that the boxes brought into his office in Building 1, Government House, contained books, Buddhist amulets, and pictures. These boxes were used for storing various items and not for massages as previously speculated. Mr. Srisanpang requested fairness in the matter, emphasizing that he did not bring a massage chair for personal use in the office.

In addition, Mr. Srisanpang noted that today a principal Buddha image was brought into his office, following the advice of a monk who recommended an auspicious time for its placement. He entered the office at 1:30 PM and brought along essential items, including legal documents, an altar, and pictures. The box utilized for these items was an old massage chair box, not an actual massage chair that he had recently used.
