Bangkok: The Ministry of Defense has introduced its newly appointed spokesperson team, emphasizing a modern approach to communication characterized by care and openness. This initiative underscores the importance of public understanding and confidence in state intentions to strengthen security missions.
According to Thai News Agency, General Nattapol Nakphanit, who currently serves as the Acting Minister of Defense, issued an order for the formation of a spokesperson working group. The team is headed by Lieutenant General Tewan Tankul, who serves as the Chief of the Ministry of Defense Spokesperson’s Office. Supporting him is Lieutenant General Rangphum Hemathappha as the Deputy Director, along with Rear Admiral Surasan Kongsiri as the main spokesperson. The team also includes Colonel Weerayut Nomsiri and Lieutenant Colonel Ongkoch Wannaphat as deputy spokespersons, with Colonel Banlu Chalatpru as a team member.
The spokesperson team has been structured to ensure that the Ministry’s communications are current and effectively reach diverse audiences. Operating under the theme ‘Creating Awareness, Creating Understanding, Promoting Participation,’ the team aims to facilitate public comprehension of the army’s multifaceted roles, which encompass security, public assistance, and its modern-day responsibilities. The initiative highlights the Ministry’s commitment to being a ‘mouthpiece of truth’ for Thai society, recognizing that efficient communication is fundamental to enhancing national security.
