Monporn Criticizes Anutin’s Speech as a Vote-Seeking Tactic

Si sa ket: “Monporn” criticized “Anutin” for delivering a speech aimed solely at gaining votes. At the time, both were part of the cabinet. She insists that people on the Sisaket border understand that “Paethongtarn” did not betray the country, emphasizing the need to retain influence in key areas, including Sisaket.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Manop Jareonsri, Deputy Minister of Transport, addressed Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul’s recent speech in Si Sa Ket Province. Mr. Anutin, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, raised multiple issues during the speech, which he claimed influenced his decision to leave the coalition government. Ms. Manop described the speech as a campaign effort by the Bhumjaithai Party to boost its candidates’ popularity. She pointed out that during the cabinet meeting addressing the digital wallet project, Mr. Anutin and his party members were present and did not oppose the decision to postpone budget distribution to fiscal year 2026. This delay was due to the US tariff wall and the need for income distribution via employment, with a budget of 157 billion baht under review. Ms. Manop emphasized the importance of transparency and public participation in budget spending, with independent organizations expected to monitor the allocation closely.

Ms. Manop also commented on an audio clip featuring a conversation between Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra and Samdech Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Senate. She refuted claims of treason, noting that the Prime Minister is prepared to clarify the conversation following a Constitutional Court petition. During her visit to Si Sa Ket Province, locals did not accuse the Prime Minister of treason. Ms. Manop urged residents of Khun Han and Phusing Districts, where by-elections are taking place, to voice their opinions. She noted that locals expressed a desire to avoid conflict and supported opening the border checkpoint for trade.

Regarding concerns about the Pheu Thai Party’s standing, Ms. Manop stated that the outcome of the by-election would depend on voter sentiment. The party’s candidate, the daughter of former MP Mr. Amorntep Sommai, has been actively campaigning in the area. Ms. Manop expressed confidence in the campaign, viewing it as an opportunity to address public concerns.

When questioned about Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra’s involvement in the campaign, Ms. Manoporn mentioned that a team is already active in the area, with further discussions planned at a party meeting. The role of Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra as an assistant campaigner remains uncertain. The Pheu Thai Party aims to retain its seat in Si Sa Ket by garnering public support to further implement policies that enhance people’s quality of life.

Ms. Manoporn concluded by stating that the party is determined to win the election, as every contest is significant, not just in Si Sa Ket, to affirm the continued support of the people of Isan for the Pheu Thai Party.
