Chiang mai: Nong Ho Road remains closed as power poles are being installed following an accident that damaged 52 poles. Power restoration is anticipated by September 17th.
According to Thai News Agency, the Pha Muang-Nong Ho road in Chiang Mai Province is temporarily shut down to facilitate the installation of equipment and cables on power poles. This closure follows an incident where a pickup truck lost control on a curve, leading to the damage of 52 power poles. The road is projected to reopen today, September 15th.
Officials have cordoned off the area from the Photharam intersection to just before the Khlong Irrigation red light intersection. This is to allow cranes and workers to safely install the necessary equipment and string cables on the 115-kilovolt power poles. The affected stretch spans nearly one kilometer and was initially damaged by a water truck accident.
The installation process is expected to conclude today, with the electrical system anticipated to be fully operational by September 17th. However, the communication system will require additional time for new equipment and cables to be installed, which could take over a week. As a result, some businesses, including shops and restaurants, remain closed due to the ongoing road closures.
