Kamphaeng phet: “Pai” has criticized “Rakchanok” for allegedly causing the Kamphaeng Phet mob to invade the People’s Democratic Reform Committee, citing political maneuvering over development budget concerns. He urged for discussions with knowledgeable parties to assure the people of Kamphaeng Phet that infrastructure projects like dams and roads will proceed without obstruction.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pai Lik, MP for Kamphaeng Phet and Secretary-General of the Kla Tham Party, addressed the situation where villagers lodged complaints at the People’s Party Coordination Center in Kamphaeng Phet Province. The complaints were directed at Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, MP for Bangkok, People’s Party, who had raised issues about budget usage in the province. Mr. Pai noted that villagers were anxious about potential budget cuts affecting essential sectors such as roads and assistance, not limited to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Mr. Pai reassured the public that the Kla Tham Party would advocate for the people of Kamphaeng Phet and other affected provinces to ensure that their budgets are not reduced. He emphasized that their actions are lawful and aim to protect the interests of the people.
Concerns were raised about the possible political implications of Ms. Rakchanok’s statements, which could lead to investigations or halts on projects in Kamphaeng Phet Province. Mr. Pai stressed that water and road infrastructure are crucial and that any interference could exacerbate existing problems.
In response to community demands for Ms. Rakchanok to respect local governance, Mr. Pai highlighted that this is an unprecedented instance of an MP intervening in another MP’s budgetary matters. He insisted on the legitimacy of scrutinizing project issues, provided they are substantiated, and remarked that such meddling is unheard of.
Mr. Pai expressed the need to engage with those affected to ensure understanding and mitigate the impact. He committed to addressing the concerns of the villagers and enhancing the outcome for all parties involved.
