Bangkok: “Paiboon” reveals “Big Pom” clearly confirms not joining the Pheu Thai government if Bhumjaithai withdraws, indicating that if it is true, the government will not last more than this year, ready to open arms to be the opposition, saying that they are already close.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Paiboon Nititawan, the secretary-general of the Palang Pracharath Party, discussed the party’s stance on joining the government amid rumors of the Bhumjaithai Party moving to the opposition. He emphasized that Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan, a key figure and leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, consistently stated his intention not to participate in Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra’s administration.
Mr. Paiboon addressed speculations that both the Bhumjaithai and Pheu Thai parties were attempting to recruit MPs from the Palang Pracharath Party to bolster their numbers. He assured that the party would adhere to its leader’s directives, highlighting clear policy differences, particularly criticizing the current government’s handling of issues such as full-service entertainment venues and the Thai-Cambodian border situation. He likened the administration to a sinking ship with unresolved conflicts, suggesting it might be better to wait for a parliamentary dissolution.
When questioned about the potential collaboration with the Bhumjaithai Party in opposition, Mr. Paiboon expressed confidence, citing longstanding relationships and camaraderie with the Bhumjaithai Party. He speculated that if Bhumjaithai exits the coalition, the Pheu Thai government’s tenure might be significantly shortened, possibly ending before the year’s conclusion.
