PEA Addresses Electricity Bill Confusion in Ban Kruat, Buriram Province

Buriram: The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has clarified the situation regarding electricity bills received by residents of Ban Kruat District, Buriram Province. These residents, who had to evacuate due to unrest along the Thai-Cambodian border, were surprised to receive electricity bills from the PEA despite a government-announced two-month relief measure.

According to Thai News Agency, the PEA has explained that the bills in question pertain to electricity usage during June and July 2025, with readings recorded and reported on August 20, 2025. This has caused some misunderstanding about the relief measures in place.

The PEA stated that, in line with government and Ministry of Interior policies, they are implementing a free electricity bill assistance measure for the months of July and August 2025. This measure applies to residential electricity users in areas officially declared as evacuation zones by the government. Residents in these areas are not required to pay electricity bills for the specified months, and those who have already paid will receive a refund, which will be deducted from their next month’s bill.

For further information, electricity users can contact the PEA Contact Center at 1129, which is available 24 hours a day.
