Bangkok: “Phumtham” joins in publicizing the sale of jasmine products on the occasion of National Mother’s Day, with proceeds to help those in need and provide scholarships for underprivileged children and youth. “Paethongtarn” supports jasmine flowers, saying she will give them to her children to attach to her grandmother.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, attended the Cabinet meeting at Building 1, Government House. Immediately upon Ms. Paethongtarn’s arrival, the media inquired whether, as leader of the Pheu Thai Party, she would assist in campaigning for the by-election in Sisaket Province, Constituency 5. Ms. Paethongtarn listened to the question and smiled at the reporters but did not provide an answer before proceeding into Building 1.
Before the Cabinet meeting, Mrs. Wanpreeya Lohawatthanakul, Vice President of the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand under Royal Patronage, along with the committee and staff, met with Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Acting Prime Minister, to promote and sell jasmine flowers on National Mother’s Day 2025 to the Cabinet.
Mr. Phumtham and Ms. Paethongtarn visited the jasmine flower sales promotion, where representatives of the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand under Royal Patronage pinned a bouquet of “Ruam Rak” jasmine flowers (yellow) on the Deputy Prime Minister’s lapel.
While Ms. Paethongtarn purchased 10 jasmine bouquets for her children to use in decorating their grandmother before entering the meeting, a reporter asked if her yellow outfit was self-designed. Ms. Paethongtarn responded that she purchased it from a Thai pattern shop.
The National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand under Royal Patronage schedules National Mother’s Day on the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, August 12th, every year to honor and promote the virtues of Her Majesty. The organization prepares ‘Jasmine Flowers’ and jasmine flower products, which are symbols of National Mother’s Day, for distribution and sale. Part of the proceeds from these sales will be presented to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother for her royal merit-making and will be added to the Community Welfare Fund to assist those in need and provide scholarships to underprivileged children and youth nationwide.
