Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, has clarified that the government will not pressure the military to release 18 Cambodian soldiers currently in detention. He emphasized that the situation is being handled through appropriate channels and that there is no discord between the government and the military.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham addressed the situation by stating that officials are conducting thorough investigations to gather clear evidence regarding the detained soldiers. He reiterated that there should be no speculation about a potential rift between the government and the military, as communication between the two entities occurs regularly without any issues.
Regarding the ongoing discussions about the potential reclamation of Prasat Ta Kwai, Mr. Phumtham commented that the area is currently under control. When further questioned about the specifics of the situation, he indicated that more information would be provided in due course, urging patience from the public.
