Chonburi: The Commander of Provincial Police Region 2 has issued directives to enhance the security of evacuees’ homes as the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border escalates.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyos Thepjamnong, the Commander of Provincial Police Region 2, announced the establishment of a mobile kitchen to provide food for those relocated to temporary shelters. The urgent evacuation of several border areas has prompted the Commander to instruct police station chiefs to oversee the assistance efforts directly. He has called for increased patrols to ensure the security of vacated homes, encouraging the use of photographic evidence to reassure homeowners of their property’s safety.
The Commander emphasized the necessity of preparedness in areas not yet affected by evacuations, highlighting the importance of a swift response should the need arise. Martial law has been declared in several jurisdictions under Police Region 2, requiring coordinated efforts with the army to safeguard national sovereignty and public order. The police have been tasked with dispelling rumors and misinformation to prevent public discord and panic, ensuring that their operations align with national defense strategies and support border security initiatives.
