Bangkok: The anticipated ‘Travel Thailand Half Each’ program registration has been postponed, with the new start date set for July 1 at 8:00 a.m. The travel period for participants will run from July 4 to October 31, 2025. The announcement came from Mr. Surawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, following the Cabinet’s approval of 110 billion baht for economic stimulus projects, including the ‘Half-Half’ travel initiative valued at 1.75 billion baht.
According to Thai News Agency, the delay was confirmed after discussions between the Ministry of Tourism and Krung Thai Bank, which manages the project registration system. The postponement aims to ensure that the registration process for the 500,000 available slots runs smoothly and is free from fraud. Initially, registration was scheduled to open at midnight last night, but it has now been rescheduled to begin on July 1.
The ‘Travel Thailand Half Each’ program offers different cost-sharing models based on travel destinations. For trips to main cities, the government will cover 50% of travel expenses on weekdays and 40% on weekends and public holidays, while travelers will pay the remaining costs. In secondary cities, the government will consistently cover 50% of expenses, regardless of the day.
Participants can spend up to 3,000 baht per room per night on accommodations, with additional digital coupons worth 500 baht available for use at restaurants, souvenir shops, OTOP shops, and tourist attractions. The Ministry of Tourism has requested that entrepreneurs register and complete necessary forms by midnight, allowing Krung Thai Bank to verify information to prevent fraud. The bank will return verified data to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) by June 29, and public reservations will be made available starting July 1.
