Kanchanaburi: The Prime Minister visited Kanchanaburi to help candidates campaign for the by-election for Constituency 4. He appealed to MPs for support and urged them to urgently address the public’s issues, insisting on not opening the Thai-Cambodian border crossing.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, in his capacity as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, and his core leaders spent their holiday in Kanchanaburi Province to campaign for Ms. Wisuda Wichiensin, a candidate for the Bhumjaithai Party. The rally took place at Wat Sara Long Ruea Temple in Huai Krachao District, Kanchanaburi Province, where a large crowd of locals came to listen to her speech.
When Mr. Anutin arrived at Wat Sara Long Ruea, he got out of his car and greeted people sitting under a tree for shade before walking to the stage. During that time, an old man saw the Prime Minister walking in the sun and handed him his own hat.
The Prime Minister then took the stage to speak with the leaders. He stated that he had to come to Kanchanaburi today with genuine respect. He said that he could not come, as the party leader and his parents and siblings had given such high regard to the candidates, including Mr. Sakda Wichiensin and Ms. Wisuda. He believed Mr. Sakda would be more able to help the people than he had invited him to become a minister, so he resigned from his MP position. Therefore, he urged them to vote for No. 1, Wisuda. Since his father is a minister, he also urged his daughter to become an MP.
The Prime Minister encouraged the election of Ms. Wisuda as an MP to support the Bhumjaithai Party ahead of next year’s general election. He also confirmed that the Thai-Cambodian border crossing will not be opened, emphasizing the sovereignty and dignity of the Thai people.
The Prime Minister stated that, having only been in office for 12 days, he has considered the state welfare card and the “Half-Half” program, which will improve the Thai economy. He also discussed debt restructuring, a policy the government promised the people, and will now be fully implemented. He emphasized that the government works as a team, regardless of party affiliation, to serve the people. He emphasized that we are working because we are fully aware of the problems. He hopes that his dream will become a reality, namely, becoming an MP.
For the election in District 4, which will be held on Sunday, October 19th, eligible voters in Lao Khwan, Huai Krachao, Bo Phloi, and Nong Prue districts will be allowed to vote from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are two candidates: No. 1, Ms. Wisuda Wichiensin of the Bhumjaithai Party, and No. 2, General Chinnawat Mandej of the Pheu Thai Party.
