Prime Minister’s Sore Throat Before Crucial Budget Vote

Bangkok: The Prime Minister arrived at the Parliament building ahead of a pivotal vote on the draft budget bill 69. This event marked the final day of deliberations before the initial vote to approve or reject the 2026 fiscal budget bill.

According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, entered the House of Representatives meeting at 2:50 p.m. Reporters inquired whether there would be a preliminary vote check before the official voting commenced. In response, the Prime Minister pointed to her neck and stated, “My throat hurts,” before proceeding into the meeting room without further comment.
