PROEN Sets Sights on Billion-Baht Government Projects Amid Profit Surge

Bangkok: PROEN is gearing up to bid on three government projects valued at billions of baht in the latter half of the year. This strategic move follows a significant increase in the company's financial performance, setting a promising outlook for the year.

According to Thai News Agency, PROEN Corp Public Company Limited (PROEN) reported a substantial 295.03% increase in net profit for the second quarter of 2015. The first half of the year also mirrored this growth trend, with a 30% profit gain from the sale of investments in joint ventures. Mr. Kittiphan Sribuaiam, Chief Executive Officer of PROEN, highlighted the company's strong first-half performance, which saw a net profit of 18.99 million baht-a stark contrast to the net loss of 21.24 million baht in the same period last year. Despite a slight 0.87% decrease in total revenue, attributed to reduced income from infrastructure projects, the company maintains a positive outlook, with ongoing revenue recognition from current projects.

Mr. Kittiphan emphasized that the backlog is anticipated to grow beyond the existing 22 projects. PROEN is actively preparing to bid on both public and private sector projects, collectively worth billions of baht. For the second quarter of 2025, PROEN achieved a net profit of 34.89 million baht-an impressive 295.03% rise from the same period last year, which recorded a net loss exceeding 17.89 million baht. Total revenue, however, experienced a 20.20% decrease, partly due to diminished sales and infrastructure revenue following the completion of a government computer equipment procurement project in 2024. Nonetheless, the sale of a 30% investment in Caesar Data Center and Cloud Service Co., Ltd., to Magma Holding Company Limited, significantly bolstered the company's net profit compared to last year. PROEN continues to recognize revenue from ongoing projects while actively seeking new opportunities.
