Bangkok: His Majesty the King's Private Secretary, Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukwimol, recently inspected the Prem Prachakon Canal Development Project and attended the 'Sai Tarn Phra Metta Prem Prachakon Rak' initiative at Prem Prachakon Park, located at Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road in the Lak Si District. This activity, organized by PTT Public Company Limited and its network partners, aims to disseminate royal initiatives focused on the development of water resources.
According to Thai News Agency, the event supports royal projects in line with the policy on enhancing water resources, canals, and ditches. The activity saw participation from youth groups from Bangkok and neighboring areas, along with over 200 lecturers, highlighting a community-driven approach to water resource management and environmental sustainability.
The event featured several engaging activities, including a boat journey along the route taken by His Majesty the King on Khlong Prem Prachakon, spanning a 6 km distance from SCG Pier to Suan Prem Prachakon Rak Pier. Participants also explored an exhibition titled 'Chonwithi Thiraphat,' which showcases the development of waterways under royal guidance, aiming to address environmental challenges and enhance quality of life.
Moreover, the initiative included a storytelling garden activity, illustrating the historical and ongoing connection between the palace, the canal, the King, and the people. This narrative was further enriched by PTT's involvement in the Suan Prem Prachakon Rak project. Additionally, efforts to foster environmental consciousness among students were made through creative art projects involving cloth bags, targeting the reduction of single-use plastics.
