Bangkok: Starting tomorrow, October 20, registration for the “Half-Half Plus” scheme will open to the public. The government warns against falling victim to fake registration links.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ayrin Phanrit, Deputy Government Spokesperson, revealed that the government’s “Half-Half Plus” project has attracted significant public and business interest. Since the start of registration for merchants on October 15, 2025, to October 17, 2025, as of 12:00 noon, 123,960 merchants have successfully registered for the project. This includes 72,185 existing merchants and 51,775 new merchants. Meanwhile, 98,064 merchants are in the application process. Of these, 91,917 are awaiting acceptance of the project’s terms and conditions, while 6,147 are awaiting verification.
Ms. Airin emphasized the importance of gradual registration for interested merchants who meet the eligibility criteria, noting that the project will begin accepting payments from citizens on October 29, 2025. Merchants can register until the Ministry of Finance closes the application process on December 19, 2025.
For the public, the “Half-Half Plus” project will be open for registration via the “Paotang” app from October 20-26, 2025, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Those eligible to participate in the project will be able to start spending from October 29-31, 2025. The project’s popularity has led to fraudsters attempting to defraud the public by sending fake links to obtain personal information and money. The government is actively monitoring the situation and advises the public to avoid clicking on suspicious links or trusting unofficial sources.
Ms. Airin urged the public to follow the Cyber Police’s recommendations: avoid links from SMS or false messages, verify official sources, and refrain from providing personal information such as ID card numbers or bank details. In case of receiving a fake link or suffering from online fraud, individuals are advised to report it online or contact the hotline.
The government emphasizes the importance of vigilance and verification to protect against fraud as the “Half-Half Plus” scheme registration commences.
