Buriram: Relatives of 20-year-old Private Phithuyut gathered to mourn his death at Prasat Ta Muen Thom. The atmosphere at the home of Private Phithuyut, also known as Noi Soda, in Nong Kong Subdistrict, Nang Rong District, was marked by sorrow as family and villagers came together to prepare for his funeral.

According to Thai News Agency, Private First Class Phithuyut was involved in a verbal altercation with Monica, a Cambodian woman, at the Ta Muen Thom temple compound in Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province. Monica’s body was discovered in a restroom near the temple compound.

Relatives shared insights into Private Phithuyut’s life, noting that his parents had separated, and he did not attend school. At 18, he joined the army with hopes of continuing his education and was stationed at the border. Despite his concerns about potential attacks after arguing with Cambodian soldiers, he was appreciated for his strong will.

The village health volunteer president revealed that villagers, who had been following the news, supported Private Phithuyut during his clash with Cambodian soldiers. They even planned to reward him with a monetary tip upon his return. Sadly, his life was cut short before this could happen.
