Royal Cremation Ceremony Honors Sergeant Major Apirom with Government Support

Loei: Jiraporn attended the royal cremation ceremony of Sergeant Major Apirom in Loei Province and donated 1 million baht to the relief fund. The Cabinet is expected to approve additional relief measures on Tuesday.

According to Thai News Agency, His Majesty the King presided over the cremation of Sergeant Major Apirom Songput, Inspector General of the 81mm Grenade Launcher Company, Combat Support Company, 3rd Infantry Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, Siharat Dechochai Camp, Khon Kaen Province. Sergeant Major Apirom died during a clash on the Thai-Cambodian border at the Ta Hong Operations Base, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, on July 28, 2025. The ceremony was held with full honors at Wat Neramit Vipassana in Dan Sai District, Loei Province.

Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office, represented the Cabinet and was joined by heads of government agencies, the military, police, and members of the public. During the ceremony, Ms. Jiraporn presented 1,000,000 baht in financial assistance from the Disaster Relief Fund, Office of the Prime Minister, to the families of the deceased. This financial aid is meant to provide initial support, with additional relief measures currently under consideration. A decision regarding these measures is expected to be submitted to the Cabinet for approval soon.

Ms. Jiraporn conveyed her condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives defending the nation. She emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the families of Sergeant Major Apirom and other soldiers who have made significant sacrifices for the country.
