Royal Thai Navy Commander Boosts Morale and Supplies at Chanthaburi-Trat Border

Chanthaburi: The Commander of the Royal Thai Navy has made a significant visit to the Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defense Command, delivering supplies and encouragement to military personnel stationed along the Thai-Cambodian border.

According to Thai News Agency, Admiral Chirapol Wongwit, the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, personally inspected the troops and provided morale-boosting items at the Ban Laem permanent border crossing. This crossing is one of the six key points between Thailand and Cambodia, strategically located in the Thep Nimit Subdistrict of Pong Nam Ron District in Chanthaburi Province. Vice Admiral Apichart Traiprasart, Commander of the Marine Corps Command and the Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense, alongside local personnel, welcomed Admiral Wongwit during his visit.

During the visit, Admiral Wongwit addressed the personnel, emphasizing the importance of their duties and the need for caution. He acknowledged the challenges of working far from family and assured the personnel of the continued support from commanders at all levels. He urged them to strictly adhere to the rules of engagement and to coordinate closely with other agencies to ensure seamless operations. Admiral Wongwit also stressed the importance of patience and tolerance to avoid any actions that could be misinterpreted internationally.

The visit comes amidst ongoing concerns at the Thai-Cambodian border in Chanthaburi Province, an area under the purview of the Royal Thai Navy’s Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command. The Commander-in-Chief has previously mandated strict surveillance and preparation measures in response to the current situation.

The Chanthaburi and Trat Border Defense Command is tasked with protecting national sovereignty and interests across both provinces, covering approximately 250 kilometers along the Thai-Cambodian border. The mission includes maintaining security on land and at sea to prevent any potential threats to the region’s stability.
