Siripong Laments the Backlash Against Anutin, Denies Ordering the Khao Kradong Scandal

Bangkok: Siripong denied that the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) had postponed filing a report with the DSI at Khao Kradong, as ordered by Bhumjaithai, stating that it had no authority to oversee the Ministry of Transport. He added that the Prime Minister’s vote results were not yet known. He lamented that Anutin was being bombarded with various criticisms, saying that it was normal for people to both like and dislike him.

According to Thai News Agency, Siripong Angkasakulkiat, deputy leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, addressed the State Railway of Thailand’s delay in filing a complaint with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), which led to links to the Bhumjaithai Party and the vote for the 32nd Prime Minister. He stated that the matter must be examined to determine the party affiliation of the current Acting Transport Minister, Suriya Jungrungreangkit. Therefore, this is the responsibility of the Acting Minister and relevant government agencies, not the Bhumjaithai Party. He emphasized that legal matters are legal matters.

Mr. Siripong stated that it is currently impossible to predict the outcome of the September 5th vote for the 32nd Prime Minister. He added that if the Bhumjaithai Party forms the government, it is not yet known who will be assigned to oversee the Ministry of Transport. He confirmed that the party has no authority or role to issue any orders to the Ministry of Transport. All matters must proceed in accordance with the legal process and fall under the authority of current civil servants.

Mr. Siripong continued, stating that the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is responsible for clarifying the situation and believes it’s a good idea to clarify the matter, not just take one course of action and get another. He acknowledged that this matter has an impact on the Bhumjaithai Party, potentially facing criticism or accusations. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the party leader, has faced numerous backlashes, some of which support him and others of his opposition, but emphasized that the only thing that can be proven is the facts.
