Soldier’s Son Seeks Knife Used in Mother’s Tragic Stabbing

Kamphaeng phet: The soldier’s son is searching for the knife that was used to stab his mother to death. Following a heartbreaking incident where the son was serving as a soldier on the border, his mother was killed in a stabbing. A search is underway for the knife believed to have been discarded. Meanwhile, the soldier’s son will be ordained as a monk at his mother’s funeral to bid farewell.

According to Thai News Agency, the case involves Ms. Jaruwan, 32, who entered a restaurant on the banks of the Ping River in Khlong Khlung Subdistrict. After ordering beer and food, she got into an argument with “Auntie Mina,” 62, the restaurant owner. The argument escalated, leading to Jaruwan stabbing Auntie Mina with a pocket knife, causing severe bleeding. Despite efforts from her relatives to rush her to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. The police arrested Jaruwan at her home, where she expressed no motive, only stating, “I’m sleepy.”

Recently, Private First Class Nirat Kongtum, 22, son of the deceased Aunt Mina, along with police officers, soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, Erawan Camp, and rescue volunteers, conducted a search near the Ping River. They suspect the knife was discarded there. Using a combination of tools and their hands, they meticulously searched the area, hoping to find the knife, which is considered crucial evidence in the case.

Private Nirat mentioned that the search was based on the possibility that the perpetrator discarded the weapon at the scene. The knife is believed to have been ordered by the perpetrator over the phone.

Meanwhile, Aunt Mina’s older sister, Mrs. Primprao, 76, is struggling to come to terms with the incident, expressing her grief through tears.

The cremation ceremony for Aunt Mina is scheduled for tomorrow at 3:00 PM at Wat Sri Phirom. In honor of his mother, Private Nirat will be ordained as a monk, fulfilling her wish to see her son ordained.
