Surin: ‘Prasat Ta Muen Thom’ in Phanom Dong Rak District experienced a lively tourist turnout despite a recent chaotic incident. The temple’s opening was delayed this morning following an uproar yesterday afternoon, yet tourists remain undeterred and continue to visit the historical site.
According to Thai News Agency, military officials resumed tourist access to the temple half an hour ago, following a riot that caused widespread panic. In response, high-ranking commanders convened a meeting today to strategize on maintaining security while promoting tourism. These developments, however, have not dampened the enthusiasm of visitors, who continue to flock to the site.
The Phanom Dong Rak District Administration Officer reported that the temple’s tourist atmosphere remains vibrant, with many visitors showing support for the officers on duty. On average, the temple attracts around 5,000-6,000 tourists during weekend holidays, indicating its continued popularity despite recent events.
