Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee Prepares for August 7 Meeting

Kuala lumpur: The GBC Secretariat has initiated discussions to set the meeting schedule for August 7th. The Thai GBC Secretariat has engaged in talks with their Cambodian counterparts to establish the framework and agree on the topics for the upcoming meeting of the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee, scheduled to take place on August 7.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai GBC Secretariat consists of the Director-General of the Military Border Affairs Department, who acts as Secretary, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies. The delegation arrived in Malaysia yesterday evening and commenced discussions with Cambodia to prepare for the meeting. The Thai delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Defense General Nattapol Nakphanit, will have representatives from the United States, China, and Malaysia as observers during the meeting.

The meeting aims to address various topics concerning the Thai-Cambodian border, and both nations are working together to finalize the agenda. The participation of international observers highlights the significance of the discussions and the impact they may have on regional cooperation and security.
