‘Thai Extreme Team’ Gears Up for Global Challenges


Pattaya: The Extreme Sports Association is organizing the Thailand Extreme Fest 2025 competition as a platform to introduce new athletes to the national team camp and develop their skills to compete on the world stage. Extreme sports in Thailand are gaining popularity and attracting interest from new athletes who want to become professional athletes from the organization of many competitions.

According to Thai News Agency, the Extreme Sports Association of Thailand, under the management of Mr. Phurit Bhirombhakdi, is actively supporting the growth of extreme sports by creating competitive platforms such as the Thailand Extreme Fest 2025 in Pattaya, Chonburi Province. This event aims to select skilled athletes for the Thai national team camp, preparing them for international competitions, including the SEA Games later this year and the Olympic Games in the United States.

This year, the fest features eight competitions: skateboard, BMX, roller freestyle, inline freestyle, speed skating, downhill skateboard, a
nd cable wakeboard. Notably, Wareeya Sukkasem, a Thai national skateboarder who became the youngest athlete at age 12 to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is using the event to refine her skills for upcoming international competitions.

The competition also serves as a preparatory ground for five Thai national extreme sports athletes who have qualified for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China. Among them, “PP” Peeranat Fakthongyu and Praepim Pipatsawat, two Thai national cable wakeboard athletes, express confidence that this competition will boost their performance at the World Games this August.

Additionally, inline freestyle athletes Panthep Ruchirek, Nichakan Jinuphan, and Sasikarn Kongpan regard this event with the same significance as world-class competitions. They view it as an opportunity to prove their skills and readiness to represent Thailand on the global stage.

Downhill skateboarding is emerging as another sport gaining attention, with its thrilling speed and strength challenges. Nawaph
an Anginsombat, ranked 24th in the world at the 2024 World Skate Games in Italy, remains determined to excel in international competitions despite the absence of this event in the SEA Games hosted by Thailand. She aims to inspire and increase the population of downhill skateboarders in Thailand.

The Thai national extreme sports team continues to develop their skills and achieve commendable results in world-class competitions, with hopes of elevating Thailand’s status in the global extreme sports arena.
