Thai Women’s Volleyball Team Focuses on Serving Practice Ahead of World Championship Clash with Japan

Bangkok: The Thai women's volleyball team is intensifying their serving practice as they prepare to take on Japan in the 2025 World Championship. The team, ranked 18th globally, is seeking redemption against the 5th-ranked Japanese team in the Round of 16 match scheduled for this evening at the Indoor Stadium Huamark. According to Thai News Agency, the Thai team, led by head coach "Coach Oat" Kiattipong Rachatakeangkrai, has been focusing on improving their serves and receiving skills during practice sessions on the competition field. Coach Oat expressed confidence in the team's preparation, noting that both the serving and the offensive and defensive strategies were executed well in training. He acknowledged the challenge presented by Japan but emphasized that he has thoroughly analyzed Japan's gameplay from previous encounters. "Captain Pure" Ajcharaporn Kongyot, a key player with experience in the Japanese league, shared that the Thai athletes are familiar with their Japanese counterparts and urged fans to cheer vigorously for the team. Despite having lost to Japan in their last five meetings, including a close 2-3 set defeat in the 2025 Women's Volleyball Nations League, the team remains optimistic about their chances. In addition to the Thailand-Japan showdown, another match in the tournament will feature the Netherlands facing Serbia at 5:00 PM.
