Three New MPs Report to Thai Parliament Following Resignations

Bangkok: The House of Representatives in Thailand has welcomed three new Members of Parliament (MPs) who have reported for duty following the recent resignations of their predecessors. Ms. Thipanan Sirichana, Pol. Gen. Asawin Kwanmuang, both from the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, and Mr. Rungruang Pitayasiri from the Pheu Thai Party, have taken up their roles and expressed their commitment to advancing legislation beneficial to the country.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Thipanan Sirichana has been promoted to MP status following the resignation of Mr. Suchart Chomklin on September 8, 2025. Ms. Thipanan emphasized the importance of representing the people and highlighted her focus on legislation related to children, youth, and environmental issues, such as air pollution. Her dedication to clear and correct laws was a focal point of her statement upon assuming her new role.

Pol. Gen. Asawin Kwanmuang also reported to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives, succeeding Mr. Thanakorn Wangboonkhongchana, who resigned on the same day as Mr. Suchart. Pol. Gen. Asawin expressed his intention to contribute positively to the nation and emphasized the shared objectives of both the government and opposition in ensuring the prosperity and well-being of Thai citizens. He also reflected on Bangkok’s flooding issues, drawing from his experience as a former governor, and expressed confidence in the current governor’s ability to address these challenges.

Mr. Rungruang Pitayasiri has assumed the role of MP for the Pheu Thai Party following Mr. Noppadon Pattama’s resignation on September 6, 2025. Mr. Rungruang, who has been involved in academic politics during his 10-year ban from holding political office, is keen to monitor the new government’s policies, particularly concerning the economy. He is committed to working within the constraints posed by the anticipated dissolution of Parliament and is eager to contribute to public satisfaction through his oversight of government performance. His previous experience on the Fiscal Policy Committee will inform his approach to his new responsibilities.
