Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has announced that the South will experience thunderstorms in several areas, while upper Thailand will experience little rain. The North and Northeast will experience cool mornings with strong winds, and temperatures will drop. Citizens are advised to take care of their health due to the changing weather conditions.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts thunderstorms in several areas of the South and heavy rain in some areas over the next 24 hours. Upper Thailand will see little rain. The North and Northeast will experience cool mornings with strong winds and a drop in temperatures due to a moderate high-pressure area from China that has spread over the upper Northeast.
As easterly winds prevail over the Gulf of Thailand and the South, coupled with a monsoon trough passing through the central South, residents in the South, particularly Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, and Pattani provinces, are advised to be wary of dangers from thunderstorms, heavy rain, and accumulated rain. They are also advised to exercise caution when traveling through flooded areas during this period. Residents in upper Thailand, particularly the North and Northeast, should take care of their health due to the changing weather conditions.
For the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, waves will be approximately 1 meter high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves will be higher than 2 meters. Mariners are advised to proceed with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
In addition, Tropical Storm Fengchen, over the upper South China Sea, has intensified into a severe tropical storm. It is expected to make landfall in central Vietnam between October 22-23, 2025, after which it will rapidly weaken due to a cold air mass from China spreading over northern Vietnam and the upper South China Sea during that period. The storm will not move into Thailand.
Bangkok and surrounding areas will experience some light rain. Minimum temperature 25-26 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperature 33-35 degrees Celsius.
