Hanoi: Treuang, the star of the Vietnamese national volleyball team, has publicly announced her decision to withdraw from the 2025 Women’s Volleyball World Championship. Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen, a key player for the Vietnamese squad, took to social media to explain her reasons for pulling out of the prestigious event, which is scheduled to take place in Thailand from August 22 to September 7, 2025.
According to Thai News Agency, Tuyen expressed gratitude to Vietnamese volleyball fans for their unwavering support, recalling the team’s memorable 3-2 victory over Thailand at the SEA V.League 2025 Championship as a highlight of her athletic career. However, she cited recent rule changes by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) concerning competition conditions as the impetus for her decision, labeling them as “not transparent and unfair.”
Tuyen emphasized that her withdrawal was not due to a lack of competitive spirit but stemmed from her commitment to the principles of respect and fairness in sports. Sh
