Bangkok: The Meteorological Department warns that some areas of northern Thailand will experience heavy rain, while the southern region will see less rain, while storm “Wutib” will make landfall in China today.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department reported that some areas of upper Thailand will experience heavy rain, while the southern region will experience less rain, but there will still be thunderstorms in some areas. People in the upper part of Thailand should be careful of the dangers of heavy rain and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, especially on hillsides near waterways and lowlands. Farmers should prepare for protection and be careful of damage to agricultural products. This is because the monsoon trough is passing through the upper North and upper Laos, along with the moderate southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
For waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, they are moderate. The upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand have waves approximately 2 meters high. The lower Andaman Sea and the lower Gulf of Thailand have waves 1-2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves are higher than 2 meters. Sailors in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are advised to sail with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
In addition, the severe tropical storm ‘Wutib’ in the Gulf of Tonkin is expected to make landfall in Guangdong Province, China today. This storm will not move into Thailand. Those who plan to travel to the area should check the weather conditions before traveling during that period.
