Woman Endures Horrific Abuse by Ex-Husband in Samut Sakhon

Samut sakhon: A woman identified by the pseudonym Ms. Bua, aged 32, has reported enduring severe physical abuse at the hands of her ex-husband, who kidnapped and beat her before using a hot iron to inflict burns on her face and thighs.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Bua sought assistance from Mr. Kanthas Phongpaiboonwet, known as ‘Kan Jom Phalang’, to file a complaint with the Krathum Baen Police Station. The abuse, which included kicking, punching, and restraining her, culminated on June 12 when her ex-husband raped her after a prolonged assault. This incident is part of a pattern of abuse spanning 8-9 years, with four occurrences this year alone.

The motivation behind the abuse reportedly stemmed from a desire to reconcile as a family and jealousy. Despite threats to her life and warnings against involving the police, Ms. Bua managed to escape and seek medical treatment for injuries that required over 20 days of care. Mr. Kan Jom Phalang, who assisted her, expressed deep sadness over her ordeal, urging that if love no longer exists, it is better to part ways than to imprison and degrade another human being.

The Krathum Baen Police Station has classified the incident as a case of physical assault. Officials are awaiting medical results and plan to further question the victim. The perpetrator has been summoned, and authorities are currently gathering evidence to proceed with the case.
