Bangkok: The women’s volleyball team has returned to Thailand, prepared to continue their fight in the C-V League. ‘Coach Oat’ Kiattipong Rachata-kriangkrai led the team back to Thailand to assess the readiness of injured athletes and expedite their recovery before the Sea V League in Nakhon Ratchasima Province in early August.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national women’s volleyball team arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport from the United States on Korean Air flight KE 659, landing at 11:35 p.m. after completing the 2025 Women’s Volleyball Nations League. Their return was met with a warm welcome from volleyball fans, and Mr. Somporn Usibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, delivered a welcome speech offering encouragement.
The team’s performance in the 3rd week saw them lose all 4 matches, but they managed to claim 1 set from the United States and 2 sets from Canada, placing them 17th in the score table and maintaining their status in the VNL competition.
‘Captain Pure’ Ajcharaporn Kongyot expressed apologies to fans for not achieving the team’s goals but considered their ability to remain in the VNL a success. He extended gratitude to his teammates for performing under pressure and emphasized the need for development and improvement.
Head coach ‘Coach Oat’ Kiattipong Rachata-kriangkrai highlighted the importance of looking forward to managing upcoming events and ensuring the readiness of injured athletes. The athletes will rest for 5 days before returning to the camp for training next Monday.
The team faces important events ahead, including the C-League, World Championship, and SEA Games, alongside promoting the hosting of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship from August 22 to September 7.
Mr. Somporn Usibangyang acknowledged that the overall tournament performance did not meet expectations, citing factors such as athlete injuries, limited preparation time, and improved standards of competitors. He stressed focusing on current players and integrating new talent for future preparation.
The goal for the World Championship is challenging, with hopes to at least pass the first round. For the SEA Games, the objective is clear: to defend the championship. Thai volleyball fans are encouraged to continue their support for the team.
The next event for the Thai women’s volleyball team is the 5th BYD CV League 2025 Women’s Volleyball Competition, Week 1, at Terminal 21 Korat Shopping Mall, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, from August 1-3.
