Revelations Emerge in Ms. Golf’s Case as Former Monk Alleges Deception and Fraud

Bangkok: Confessions from Ms. Wilawan, also known as Ms. Golf, have unveiled a complex web of deceit and financial misconduct involving high-ranking monks and significant monetary transactions. Former Phra Maha Boonlert has accused Ms. Golf of fabricating a story to lure him to her residence and swindling him out of 100,000 baht. He is preparing to file a complaint to press additional charges.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Maj. Gen. Prasong Chalermphan, Commander of the Anti-Corruption and Misconduct Division (ACD), reported on the ongoing investigation of Ms. Golf, aged 35. During interrogation, she provided valuable information and cooperated with law enforcement. She is scheduled for her first detention period at the Central Criminal Court.

Pol. Col. Anek Taosuphap, deputy commander of the Crime Suppression Division, highlighted that Ms. Golf denied charges of rape and extortion against Tid Lae, a former assistant abbot, but admitted to asking Tid Lae for help in drafting a complaint letter without coercion. She justified her actions by citing Tid Lae’s expertise in publicizing information at Wat Sothon.

Initial investigations revealed Ms. Golf’s confession to having intimate relationships with several high-ranking monks, attributing her behavior to a past trauma. She disclosed details of her past relationship with former Phra Thep Wachira Sitthimethi, stating it caused her significant emotional distress.

Financial investigations unveiled Ms. Golf’s two personal bank accounts, which received over 385 million baht from monks and others. Her lavish spending habits included purchasing brand-name items and gambling, leaving her with only 8,000 baht.

Former Phra Maha Boonlert, who disrobed following his involvement with Ms. Golf, provided information to authorities, claiming victimhood in the situation. He described how Ms. Golf manipulated circumstances to engage him, eventually leading to a night spent at her residence under false pretenses.

Ms. Golf’s actions have prompted former Phra Maha Boonlert to refrain from ordaining new monks and led him to accuse her of borrowing 100,000 baht under false claims of illness. He plans to pursue legal action, asserting his victimhood in the events.
