Phra nakhon si ayutthaya: Ayutthaya police have successfully apprehended a group of young bikers who organized a chaotic motorcycle race in the city. The operation, led by the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya police force, targeted the notorious racing activities that disrupted normalcy in the city.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Narunat Phutthaisong, Commander of the Ayutthaya Provincial Police, instructed the Bang Pa-in Police Station to collaborate with other local police units to intercept a gang of motorcycle racers. This group was known for modifying their vehicles and clandestinely organizing races to flaunt their engine capabilities. The racers, mainly teenagers from Pathum Thani and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provinces, initially gathered at Bangkok University in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, before proceeding to a location in front of Mini Bag Company in Bang Pa-in District.
The police deployed over 70 officers to strategically position themselves along Asia Road, particularly at kilometer markers 6-9 near the Hi-Tech Industrial Estate in Tambon Ban Wa, Amphoe Bang Pa-in. This effort culminated in the arrest of 24 young racers and the confiscation of 24 motorcycles. It was discovered that over 20 of the motorcycles lacked license plates, and none of the riders carried licenses. All the motorcycles had modified exhaust pipes.
The arrested individuals and their motorcycles were taken to Bang Pa-in Police Station for processing. The suspects face charges of street racing, reckless driving, and other legal violations. They are scheduled to appear before the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Court. The motorcycles have been seized as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
