Songkhla: Bhumjaithai Party has introduced Banglee Khosalee, a clay pot roast chicken vendor, as a prospective candidate for the Songkhla Constituency 8, which includes the Chana and Thepha districts. Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, the southern leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, along with Mr. Supachai Jaisamut, Chairman of the party’s Legal Working Group, announced the candidacy of Mr. Khosalee Dusame for the upcoming election. The party is optimistic about attracting MPs to join its ranks following the announcement of the dissolution of Parliament.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Supachai highlighted that Mr. Pipat will continue to introduce MP candidates from each province to keep the public informed. Songkhla Province, particularly the districts of Chana and Thepha, currently lacks MPs. The party has been reviewing candidates who are successful in business and well-accepted by the community. Mr. Ghosali Dusame, a 42-year-old local entrepreneur known for his clay pot roasted chicken, is being introduced as a candidate suitable for these predominantly Muslim districts.
Mr. Pipat emphasized that the Bhumjaithai Party is actively engaging candidates to join its political work in this region. The Chana and Thepha districts are part of a special area in the southern region, which includes five provinces and are critical for their strategic geographical location. Chana district, in particular, is pivotal due to its gas pipeline connection with Malaysia. The party is hopeful of securing representation in District 8, with Songkhla Province having a total of nine MP districts.
Mr. Pipat expressed his belief that the Bhumjaithai Party’s efforts in Districts 7 and 8 will garner support from the local populace, enabling their candidate to represent the people of these districts. He noted that Mr. Khosalee has effectively turned the post-COVID-19 crisis into an economic opportunity, gaining respect from local leaders and villagers. The party is confident in his chances for the upcoming election.
Regarding potential new members from other political parties, Mr. Pipat addressed rumors about Democrat Party members Nipit Bunyamanee and Somyot Plaiduang joining Bhumjaithai. He clarified that discussions are ongoing, with both maintaining their current party affiliations for now. However, future collaboration is anticipated post-Parliament dissolution.
Mr. Pipat also mentioned the potential involvement of Ms. Auyphonsri Chaowalit and Mr. Chinnaworn Boonyakiat in Bhumjaithai. He indicated that Ms. Auyphonsri has been approached, and additional members from Nakhon Si Thammarat Province will be gradually introduced. The party plans to launch candidates simultaneously across 14 southern provinces once Parliament is dissolved. This strategic move aims to strengthen the party’s political ideology and presence in the region.
