Bhumtham Dispatches Trucks to Clear Government House Ahead of New Cabinet

Bangkok: “Bhumtham” sends delivery vehicles out of Government House. Ministers return their vehicles to their positions, waiting for the new Cabinet to take office. Reporters from Government House reported that the atmosphere was quiet as deputy prime ministers and acting ministers dispersed to their ministries to bid farewell to civil servants and officials. Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, acting on behalf of the Prime Minister, entered the Ministry of the Interior. Meanwhile, some civil servants and officials brought roses to offer encouragement to Mr. Somkid Chuekong, Deputy Secretary-General to the Prime Minister, at the Command Building’s office.

According to Thai News Agency, preparations are underway for the Thai Khu Fah Building to accommodate the new Cabinet. Former Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has moved her personal belongings and chairs, as has the previous cabinet, who have already cleared out their belongings. Officials from the Office of the Prime Minister’s Secretariat have inspected the equipment and other belongings, including cleaning the office to ensure they are ready for use. No members of the Prime Minister’s team have yet visited the building.

Meanwhile, Building 1, which houses the offices of the Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers of the Prime Minister’s Office, as well as political officials, has been gradually moving its belongings back. Earlier that day, officials removed personal belongings, various boxes of documents, kitchenware, and chairs from Mr. Bhumtham’s office on the fourth floor and loaded them onto two trucks. The facilities department will then inspect the equipment and supplies in preparation for the arrival of the new Cabinet.
