Bangkok: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has launched an emergency center dedicated to supporting Thai nationals in the Middle East amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran. The ministry advises Thai citizens to leave the region promptly if airspace remains open and flights are available.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nikorndej Plangoon, Director-General of the Department of Information and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared insights on the measures being taken to manage the escalating situation. Thailand is deeply concerned about the conflict’s intensification and its broader implications. The nation has urged all involved parties to exercise restraint to prevent a further deterioration of circumstances, which could adversely impact innocent civilians. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with regional embassies, is vigilantly monitoring the developments and has established protocols to assist Thai citizens if required.
The newly established Emergency Situation Center (RRC) will work in tandem with relevant agencies and embassies in the region to offer support during emergencies. Thai nationals can seek urgent help from any Thai embassy in the area should the need arise.
Thai citizens in the affected regions are encouraged to remain vigilant, adhering to the warning notifications and emergency procedures issued by Thai embassies. They are advised to refrain from non-essential travel within the area. If conditions permit safe travel, Thai nationals are urged to consider leaving the region without delay.
