Prime Minister’s Motorcade Did Not Obstruct Patient at Surin Hospital: Ministry Clarifies Incident

Surin: A spokesperson from the Ministry of Public Health has addressed the controversy regarding the Prime Minister’s motorcade and its alleged obstruction of patient access at Surin Provincial Hospital.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Treechada Sritada, spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health’s political division, commented on the dissatisfaction circulating on social media about the July 27, 2015, incident. She clarified that the patient arrived at the hospital at 1:31 PM and was treated promptly, with the medical team following standard protocol. The patient was assessed at 1:34 PM, just minutes after arrival.

The medical evaluation revealed that the patient was experiencing dizziness and slight hypertension, with a blood pressure reading of 160/73. The patient was conscious, with no signs of weakness or other systemic abnormalities. After receiving medication and being monitored in the emergency room, the patient’s condition improved, and she was discharged safely that afternoon.

Ms. Treechada further clarified that the Prime Minister’s motorcade did not obstruct the patient’s access to medical care. The motorcade was parked in the right lane, leaving the left lane clear for the patient’s car to access the hospital services without any hindrance. No orders were given to block any vehicles, as evidenced by the actual footage of the incident.
