Bangkok: “The Shrimp General” is embracing a busy life post-retirement, engaging actively with the public by delivering lectures at various educational institutions and government agencies. He emphasizes that even those with action-packed careers should continue contributing after retirement.
According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, who now serves as an advisor to the Royal Thai Army Commander and is a former commander of the Second Army Region, shared insights about his current role as an advisor to the Commander-in-Chief. He has been tasked with overseeing public affairs to promote unity and love. This month, he will be speaking at several educational institutions and government agencies, with each engagement being considered by the Commander-in-Chief individually.
Recently, Lt. Gen. Boonsin traveled to Bangkok to deliver a lecture at the Court of Justice on Ratchadaphisek Road, marking his first assignment as an advisor to the Army Commander-in-Chief. He also visited the King Prajadhipok’s Institute, where he took on roles as a special advisor, secretary-general, and director of the Advanced Diploma Program in Building a Peaceful Society (4S).
In his visits to the Army, Lt. Gen. Boonsin often travels to various field locations. Reflecting humorously on his active post-retirement life, he noted, “I think that after retirement, you work harder than in your official life. You don’t get to rest. After you put down your guns, you can go on a journey to meet the people.”
